Haiti- Obama Speaks Out

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/03/10/obama.haiti/index.html
The situation "remains dire," says Obama.  Obama speaks with Haiti's President, Rene Preval about the aid in Haiti.  This is a major global issue that President Obama has to deal with efficiently.  Washington has already donated $700 million in aid according to this CNN article.  These donations were given efficiently and in a good timely matter, but there's still so much more help needed in Haiti.

This article's audience could be Americans, Haitians, and anybody donating aid to Haiti.  The purpose of this article is to inform the public about the situation in Haiti, and to persuade donators to donate more money.  The tone of this report is brisk and to the point.  It gives the facts without being around the bush.  Obama's ethos are riding on the efforts he put towards helping Haiti.  America is a country known to step in when things are not going right, so we were expected to provide Haiti with as much aid as possible in their time of need.  If Obama lacks to provide the aid expected of America, his ethos will be damaged.  Not only would other countries have distrust in him, but so would fellow Americans.  This would also effect his image, if he tried to run for re-election.  I think he is on top of this situation as of now.  And he has encouraged President Preval that aid will continue in Haiti.
